Dr.Wayne W. Lai

Dr. Wayne W. Lai is a Neurologist and a Sleep Specialist. He has practiced medicine in both in the United States and Canada since 2006. Dr. Lai completed his internal medicine training at Seton University in South Orange, New Jersey, USA and his Neurology and Sleep Medicine training at Case Western Reserve University - University Hospital of Cleveland, in Cleveland Ohio, USA. In 2010 he returned back to Canada and opened his practice in Kelowna, BC.

Dr Lai currently holds the following certifications and credentials:

  • Diplomat, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Board certified in Neurology in 2008 and Sleep Medicine in 2009.


  • Diplomat, CSCN (EMG).


  • Previous medical director of the Sleep Lab at White River Health System, Arkansas USA, from 2007 - 2010.


  • Current medical director of the Kelowna General Hospital Sleep Lab in Kelowna, BC.


  • Current medical director of the Kootenay Sleep Center in Cranbrook, BC.


  • Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at University of British Columbia.


  • Active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the BC Medical Association.


Dr. Lai is also actively involved in medical school education at University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus where he frequently lectures to students regarding neurology and sleep medicine.


Dr. Salima Amlani

Dr. Salima Amlani completed her training in Sleep Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Her background includes certifications in both Internal Medicine and Respirology at Queen’s and McMaster Universities. Sleep Medicine has been Dr. Amlani’s primary practice focus since graduating including areas of sleep apnea, disorders of hypersomnolence as well as how various disease conditions impact sleep.


Dr. Amlani has been working at Neuro-Sleep Clinic since relocation to Kelowna in 2014 with her husband who is a Cardiologist at Kelowna General Hospital.

Dr. Amlani currently holds the following certifications and credentials:

  • FRCPC, Internal Medicine and Respirology.


  • Fellow, Sleep Medicine.


  • Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, University of British Columbia.


Dr. Amlani is affiliated with the Kelowna General Hospital sleep lab and is actively involved in medical education at University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus.

Kelowna Clinic Office


Heather is our office manager. She is responsible for patient bookings and form processing. She is the helpful, cheerful person you will hear when you call or meet when you visit our office.

 


Kootenay Sleep Center - Cranbrook Office


Maiea and Winsfield are the sleep technologists for the Kootenay Sleep Center. They will greet you upon your arrival,  help you settle in, prepare you for your sleep study and monitor your sleep for the night.  And they do it all with courtesy and a smile.
